As we all begin to tackle cleanup chores, please dont lose sight on safety. SERVPRO of North Central Mecklenburg County wants to remind our readers that this is a good time to be aware of safety and health.

Now is a good time to test, clean, and replace the batteries in your smoke detectors as outlined by the manufacturer.

While you're at it, check your fire extinguishers. Businesses are required to inspect their extinguishers annually. You should be doing the same.

Change out those furnace air filters as well. After a long hot summer, a fresh filer helps reduce stress on the furnace or heat pumps fan.

Pay attention to the tools and cleaning chemicals you may be using. Keep them away from children and pets.

Finally, remember to use proper lifting techniques. After a relaxing summer, we need to remember our limits!
