Appearances Can Be Deceiving with Water Damage in Mecklenburg County Home

From the outside, it is hard to tell this Mecklenburg County home had water damage that started in the attic, migrated down a stairwell and into the kitchen. SERVPRO technicians found elements of water loss to the structure as well as mold damage. The techs extracted as much moisture as possible from the attic, stairs and kitchen using portable pumps. The mold infestation areas required removal and disposal of building materials. In order to dry the substrate under the stairs, the techs removed the carpet and padding. This action assists with limiting any further moisture absorption within the wood steps and risers. After mold remediation at the ground zero of the water loss in the attic, the techs treated surfaces to ensure colonies do not re-establish.
